“After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.” — Matthew 4:2
Kayla’s plane had just touched down at the airport when she got the call. Her oldest daughter was in the hospital and the doctors didn’t know why she was sick or how to help her.
Without stopping at home to change, she went to be…

“Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.” — Daniel 10:12
Daniel was a prayer warrior. He prayed daily, seeking God constantly. That fact alone is remarkable. But when you consider the time he lived in, it’s downright amazing. He was a captive from Israel who had been taken to Babylon.
He was known to the king who seeing Daniel’s wisdom…
With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:
“He is good;
his love toward Israel endures forever.”
And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
With everything going on in this world it's hard at times to see the goodness of God. All we have to do is turn on the nightly news. There we see the hate, pain, destruction, greed, and the list goes on.
Where is this good God? we cry out!
Oh, He is there, and His hearts breaks for…
The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.
Where do you run when trouble comes? Who do you trust when the walls are closing in?
It’s easy to run to the wrong things in this life, to try and cope with our troubles in unhealthy ways. I’ve been there all too often. Running to a relationship for comfort, running to the approval of others, or running to substance abuse. However it looks for you, running to the things of the world will never satisfy.
There is only…
But it is no shame to suffer for being Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name.
1 Peter 4:16
We live in a world becoming more hostile towards Christians. Standing up for truth is only going to become more difficult by the day. In a world of political-correctness, making sure you don’t offend, and respecting everyone’s feelings, it’s easy to be insulted by others.
As we grow in our relationship with Christ it should be of no surprise if we experience some level of suffering because of it!
No one enjoys suffering, however we can…
And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Philippians 4:8 NLT
Fixing our thoughts! Much easier said than done. It’s crazy how we can go weeks and weeks, never taking pause on the thoughts that are racing through our minds.
We are called to take our thoughts captive.(2 Corinthians 10:5) To filter thoughts that come into our minds. …
2 Corinthians 1: 3–4 NLT
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
No one likes to suffer….
It sucks. You feel alone, isolated, and hopeless. When we suffer we go through our days in a fog. Just going through the motions aimlessly.
I get it…Life wears us downs, and the energy we once had…
